I am no longer the little girl who dreams of becoming a fairy, or who plays house with her stuffed animals. Nor do I feel shame in those childish fantasies, as they have shaped me into who I am today. With the joy, sorrow, and experiences they held, I have now outgrown the cocoon of my world. Now I break free of the protective embrace of my childhood, that has sheltered me in new encounters, emotions, and stories. Though the path ahead of me is uncertain, I have confidence in who I have grown up to be.
